The cost of campaigning the first two racing seasons are included in the price of membership. Further racing expenses are deducted from purse earnings. See the TERMS below for details.
When our horses retire from racing, there are several options for their continued care. Our main goal is to sell our fillies at auction where they will begin new lives as broodmares. All of our previously campaigned horses are either broodmares or are adopted through racing industry sponsored organizations that monitor their life long homes and will step in to assure that if a new home is required, it continues to be tracked and the horse will never return to racing.
Revenue is generated two ways. First, earning purse money. Second by selling our filly as a broodmare prospect when she retires from racing. Purse earnings are distributed to club members quarterly according to the terms listed below. Proceeds from the sale of the filly will be distributed to the members once the sale is completed and the club terms are met.
Just make an appointment via email to arrange a farm or track visit or attend the races.
See the Terms below for more details.
The California Thoroughbred Racing Club buys yearling fillies, races them from two to four years old and races them mostly, but not exclusively, in Southern California. They are then sold as breeding prospects. Each filly's value as a broodmare depends on her level of success on the racetrack. When the filly is done racing and is sold, the club members will each receive their share of revenue.
Members may attend their horses' races, visit our barn at Santa Anita race track and visit our horses off track in Kentucky.
When you purchase membership in the racing club, you become part owner of a Thoroughbred racehorse. The precise legal details of membership vary from horse to horse. The terms for a new filly will be posted here when memberships go on sale.
The price of membership for each horse varies and is determined by factors such as the purchase price and the calculated cost of a 2 or 3 year race campaign. Once membership has been purchased, there are no other costs, fees or charges for any members, just a single purchase price.
Racing or Breeding, The California Turf Group offers you the opportunity to participate in the sport of Thoroughbred racing with one small payment and no additional fees or charges.
