Covered means the stallion mounted and bred the mare. Chalky will be examined in 18 days to see if she is in foal (pregnant). If she is, you can expect the foal to be born in eleven months, late March 2021. If she is not in foal, there will be time to try again. She would normally come back in heat in 18 to 21 days.

Chalky's Breeding Club 1 is a group of people who will lease the Thoroughbred broodmare, Chalky, arrange a mating with the stallion, I'll Have Another, and then own and sell the resulting offspring.
The gestation period is approximately 11 months.
The resulting foal is owned, not leased, by the club.
The foal is weaned from the mare around September 1st 2021, at which time the lease of the mare expires.
The foal will be sold at auction as a yearling in Autumn 2022.
Peter Nehf, owner of Chalky, recieves 20% of the foal's sale price as part of the cost of the lease
The remaining 80% of the sale price will be divided equally among the shares of Chalky's Breeding Club 1.
Any California Breeder's awards awarded to Chalky's Breeding Club 1 will be divided equally among the shares of Chalky's Breeding Club
Information and updates on Chalky will be provided on this website and via the Jay C Nehf YouTube channel
Chalky's Breeding Club 1 is managed by Jay C. Nehf, licensed Thoroughbred trainer. Jay has been in the racing industry for over fifty years. He was breeding manager of Delray Training Center for seven years. He has worked with some of the industry's top horses, stallions and farms, such as Northern Dancer, Seattle Slew, and Spendthrift and Calumet Farms. He is currently stabled at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, CA.
Chalky's Breeding Club 1 will be officially registered by The Jockey Club as the breeder of record. This will be noted in The Daily Racing Form and other racing programs every time this horse races.
Ultimately the aim of the club is to sell the foal at the annual
Fasig-Tipton Fall yearling sale. Club members will watch live in person or live online as the yearling enters the sales ring and the bidding proceeds until the hammer falls on the final bid. That amount will be equally distributed among the member's shares. In addition, Chalky's Breeders Club 1 will be eligible for breeders awards this horse may earn throughout its life while racing in California. These awards will be distributed equally among the members, shares also.
